NUUK, rPET water bottle concept

The Sidel Group’s art designers present NUUK, a new recycled PET (rPET) water bottle concept, drawing inspiration from the purity of ice and its unique formations, the company says. In fact, the NUUK brand takes its name from Greenland’s capital and the fjords that make it famous, it adds. The “Frozen, Authentic, Unique” slogan highlights the brand’s attributes, while the container, produced from clear, 100 percent rPET, is designed for high-quality, fjord-sourced premium water brands. With its distinctive design and asymmetric shape, the 500-ml bottle showcases the water it contains and reflects the brand’s essence. The specific ice shape on the lower part of the bottle constitutes a great asset and reinforces its structure. It also gives the impression that the bottle is surging up from the ice, according to the company. The deep bottle base resembles a rock glacier and is produced by the company’s patented Base Over Stroke System (BOSS). The mechanical forming, which takes place during the blowing process, optimizes the material distribution in the final bottle base profile, while the consistent blowing process uses a minimum amount of material, it says. With its ice shape and blue color, the wide cap enhances the brand’s premium look and perception. Additionally, the bottle is compatible with tethered cap solutions to meet environmental requirements and forthcoming regulations.

Folding Aluminum Ramps

Link Manufacturing introduced a new 42-inch-by-108-inch spring-assisted folding aluminum ramp. The size allows the ramp to accommodate dollies, hand trucks and more, while still leaving room for cargo access when vertically stowed inside the vehicle, the company says. The new size fits neatly between the company’s current 36- and 47-inch offerings, giving users more ramp width, without blocking door access when mounted to one side and folded to its upright storage position. Additionally, the ramps are perfect for fleets and vehicles serving the last-mile delivery segment that don’t have to deploy ramps at every stop because it leaves enough room for door entrance and egress without being unfolded. The new LB20-42-108SA ramp features a robust steel deck mounting plate and has a capacity rating of 1,250 pounds. With nine standard mounted, swivel and portable ramp designs, Link ramps are engineered to serve a variety of vehicle types, including cargo vans, step vans, cutaway vans, box trucks and straight trucks. The company offers a wide variety of ramp sizes to accommodate cargo ranging from parcel delivery to heavy equipment and can handle weight capacities from 350 to 1,500 pounds. The company also offers custom engineering services for unique applications.

Raymond Courier 3220 Automated Tow Tractor

Ideal for handling and heavy-duty towing in a beverage warehouse, The Raymond Corp. recently launched the newest addition to its automated guided vehicle (AGV) lineup: the Raymond Courier 3220 Automated Tow Tractor. With a capacity to tow as much as 15,000 pounds, the AGV combines vision-guided technology with a heavy-duty towing capacity and more ramp capability, further expanding the company’s end-to-end intralogistics solutions, it says. The tow truck also features a low clearance arch as a standard design, making it easier to maneuver through areas with low overhanging structures. The Courier 3220 joins a fleet of three additional Courier AGVs, and features increased towing and ramp grade capability for more productivity of indoor towing applications. Additionally, the Courier line infrastructure-free installation enables easy and fast commissioning, operational flexibility and exceptional scalability as routes can quickly be transferred between trucks as well as be added or redeployed to different facilities, locations, shifts or applications, the company says.

Extended Range Hinges

J.W. Winco Inc. offers a variety of opening and closing specialty hinges, including simple hinges for welding, multi-joint hinges with complex kinematics, and superior door and flap solutions with extra functions. For heavy-duty applications, the company recommends hinge GN 237.3, a compact, stainless steel hinge that features a
180-degree range of motion regardless of the mounting orientation. The hinge also contains special shim washers and hinge bands that have centering extensions to ensure a tighter fit, thereby preventing sliding and eliminating the transverse forces that otherwise place extremely heavy loads on the screws, the company says. On the other hand, the hinge series GN 235 can be mounted with socket head cap screws and because of an offset axis, still swivels by 180 degrees without collision. Horizontal and vertical slots simplify adjustment, and the hole pattern corresponds to existing hole arrangements, making it easier to replace existing hinges, the company says. The company also offers multiple-joint hinges with four-, seven- or 10-times joint mechanism, which opens flaps and shifts position at the same time. The maximum opening angle of 180 degrees provides optimal accessibility and avoids the blocking of escape routes by open doors, according to
the company.

Model RCM-60X20-SS Rotary Continuous Mixer

Munson Machinery Co. Inc. released its newest sanitary mixer: Model RCM-60X20-SS Rotary Continuous Mixer. Designed to blend primary bulk ingredients, minor ingredients and/or liquid additions uniformly in a typical one to two minutes residence time, the rotary continuous mixer operates at a low cost per volume of material blended, the company says. The RCM mixer employs a 20-foot-long by 60-inch-diameter rotating cylinder with internal mixing flights that impart a gentle tumbling action, distributing particles with each degree of the drum rotation with no shear or heat generation. A 30 horsepower gear-reduced motor rotates the mixing drum at slow speeds on external trunnion motors, minimizing energy consumption and eliminating the need for shaft seals and minimizing degradation. The mixer’s stationary inlet and outlet allow hard connections to upstream and downstream process equipment, while an internal stainless steel spray line plumbed through the stationary discharge end permits liquid coating, de-dusting or perfuming of dry ingredients. Spraying of liquid additives onto a wide expanse of cascading material produced by the internal flights minimizes the time required to achieve uniform distribution. In addition to the newest rotary mixing model, the company offers continuous rotary mixers ranging in diameter from 16 to 72 inches and in length from 4 to 24 feet along with a wide array of other mixing and blending products.

Because intercontinental travel for fall 2021 remains uncertain and global reach is the key to its success, the drinktec advisory board and Messe München announced the decision to postpone the world’s leading trade fair for the beverage and liquid food industry until Sept. 12-16, 2022. The event, which will take place in Munich, Germany, is registering high demand for floor space from customers in Germany and abroad, with three quarters of the available exhibition floor space already booked, the organizations say. The global beverage industry meets in Munich once every four years. “Companies synchronize their innovative developments in line with this cycle, which is why we had to find timely dates in the trade fair calendar. Canceling altogether and leaving an eight-year gap in between trade fairs would have been unacceptable for the industry,” said Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, deputy chairman of the board of Messe München, in a statement. He notes that two thirds of all drinktec visitors come from abroad and half from other continents.
