Agricultural cooperative Ocean Spray partnered with actor, director and cookbook author Jesse Tyler Ferguson to launch the hashtag #BetterTogether initiative in support of teachers, school staff and the national campaign No Kid Hungry. “Teachers and school staff have overcome many obstacles to keep kids learning and engaged during the past year. This harvest and holiday season, we're proud to partner with No Kid Hungry and thank these heroic school communities that have been there for our children during an extraordinarily trying time,” said Tom Hayes, CEO of Ocean Spray, in a statement. Ferguson joined Ocean Spray to help package up “thank you” care packages with No Kid Hungry at an Ocean Spray farmer’s cranberry bog to kick off #BetterTogether, starting with 50 schools. Together, Ocean Spray invited everyone to visit www.OceanSpray.com/bettertogether to nominate a school to receive a special message from Ferguson and a care package from Ocean Spray. Additionally, in time for holiday celebrations and spending time together with loved ones, Ferguson will launch recipes with Ocean Spray while also sharing social media inspiration throughout the season.

Thanks a bunch!

Cheers to 21 years

This year, Smirnoff ICE celebrated its 21st birthday by teaming up with actor and host Mario Lopez to give one adult winner the ultimate gift: a cash prize of $10,000 to cover the cost of their Smirnoff ICE for the next 21 years. “We can all agree that Smirnoff ICE is timeless, but as an iconic mainstay in culture we want to celebrate this monumental birthday in a big way.” said Lisa Lee, Smirnoff ICE brand director, in a statement. Lopez added: "Together we're giving away enough cash so someone can stock their fridge with Smirnoff ICE for 21 years, which is a pretty great birthday gift if you ask me.” For a chance at winning the hashtag #IFeel21Sweepstakes, contestants first visited Mario Lopez’s Instagram page (@mariolopez). Next, on his post announcing the Smirnoff ICE sweepstakes, they then were required to like the post, tag a friend 21 years or older and use the hashtag #IFeel21Sweepstakes.

This holiday season, with the launch of two seasonal flavors, Talking Rain Beverage Co., the maker of Sparkling Ice, is spreading holiday cheer through its new initiative: Cheers to Giving. The Cheers to Giving campaign celebrated nonprofits by inviting the organizations and its supporters to share stories of impact, for a chance to be selected as one of three winning nonprofits to receive a $50,000 donation from Talking Rain. “We’re always inspired by the charitable work and the impact that our nonprofits have every day in local communities across the country,” said Nina Morrison, senior vice president of community experience at Talking Rain, in a statement. Through Nov. 19, Sparkling Ice fans could nominate a 501(c)(3) charity to receive one of three available donations. The three winning charities will be announced on or around Dec. 15, and each will receive a $50,000 donation from Talking Rain. As a bonus, for each nomination, participants could earn Sparkling Ice Rewards points to be redeemed for various prizes like Sparkling Ice branded items and more.

Gifts of giving

Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey and Wild Turkey bourbon teamed up to recognize individuals who kept their local music scenes alive with a series of $10,000 donations to community-based music initiatives of their choice. In November, McConaughey, Wild Turkey's creative director since 2016, and the bourbon brand celebrated five “Local Legends” who supported music endeavors that helped their communities thrive during exceptionally trying times. “Musicians are outlaws, poets, performers and prognosticators ― and we need them to keep taking the stage. It's vital that we invest in these local music scenes ― to keep the lights on at our favorite venues and nurture the next generation of great live performers,” McConaughy said in a statement. As a nod to Wild Turkey's new Trust Your Spirit campaign, the brand selected “Local Legends,” Jason Eskridge and Justin Branam, both of Nashville, Jess Garland of Dallas, Melissa A. Weber of New Orleans, and Justin Fedor of Charlotte, who each received a $10,000 donation to the music-centric charity of choice as a way to continue uplifting their local music community.
