Madison Chemical introduces environmentally friendly cleaner
Chemical formulator Madison Chemical has unveiled ENVIRO-CLEAN 444, a one package, general purpose foaming cleaner that works well in virtually all water conditions. The new cleaner is formulated to perform in challenging environments. It is free of phosphates, NPE surfactants, PFAS and EDTA, the company says. ENVIRO-CLEAN 444 is Prop 65 compliant, so it has minimal environmental impact. The detergent is chlorinated and moderately alkaline, producing a thick, stable, wet foam needed for cleaning vertical and overhead surfaces without dry-out or run-off. It is ideal for cleaning hard to reach areas in food, beverage and dairy processing plants, the company adds. Madison Technical Sales Representatives are available to assist in determining dilution rates and contact times as well. Prior to use, food products and packaging materials must be removed from the room or carefully protected. All surfaces must be thoroughly rinsed with potable water after using ENVIRO-CLEAN 444. The cleaner is safe to use on ferrous, stainless and most copper alloys when used as directed. It is not for use on painted surfaces. ENVIRO-CLEAN 444 joins the lineup of ENVIRO-CLEAN cleaning chemicals developed to provide superior cleaning performance while meeting modern environmental standards.

Thermo Fisher Scientific reveals new beverage quality testing technology
Thermo Fisher Scientific is aiming to support the quality of beverage products with the introduction of its SureTect Beverage Spoilage Multiplex qPCR Assay. The technology is an industry-first, all-in-one quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)-based test developed in collaboration with Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, the company says. The assay offers early and accurate detection of spoilage organisms earlier in the production process and has wide applicability across the beverage testing industry, it adds. Microbial-spoilage-product recalls pose a risk to beverage-makers and affect quality, brand reputation and revenue. Moreover, Thermo Fisher notes that traditional contamination testing methods can take days and miss trouble-causing micro-organisms. The Thermo Scientific SureTect Beverage Spoilage Multiplex qPCR Assay can detect more than 100 strains of the most relevant spoilage micro-organisms within beverages, it says. “Product recalls don’t just impact the consumer — brands face both financial and reputational harm, making the true cost of a recall much more expensive than the product lost,” said Chris Armstrong, president of microbiology at Thermo Fisher, in a statement. “This qPCR-based assay is part of Thermo Fisher’s commitment to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer, and helps brands avoid risk, protect their customers and keep their products on shelves by providing a faster and more accurate result on their batch tests.” The company shares that, by testing for more micro-organisms in one assay, the kit enables cost efficiencies and improved environmental sustainability.

Hybrid Software Helix launches industrial inkjet
Hybrid Software Helix, formerly Global Graphics Software, launched SmartRIP. SmartRIP is an innovative inkjet raster image processer (RIP) for OEMs and integrators, and is the world’s first GPU-native RIP, the company says. The inkjet delivers exceptional performance and scalability for a wide range of industrial printing applications, offering a streamlined feature set and optimized pricing designed specifically for the broader industrial print market, rather than high-end digital presses for label and packaging applications, it notes. “With SmartRIP, we’ve taken the award-winning, proven technology from SmartDFE, which powers high-end digital presses, and streamlined it for a wider range of industrial applications,” Justin Bailey, managing director, said in a statement. “OEMs and integrators can now deliver exceptional print quality faster, with less complexity and at a lower cost. Additionally, with its embedded OPC UA, SmartRIP is secure by design, making it ready for the rigor likely to be required to comply with the Cyber Resilience Act that comes into play in Europe in 2027.” SmartRIP is flexible and highly scalable, maximizing controller hardware performance, while its streamlined integration process enables users to get up and running in hours, according to the company. The technology also offers advanced print quality technologies, including color management from ColorLogic, which come in the form of a user-friendly, automated system that enables any operator to achieve excellent print quality with ease and confidence, it notes.

NETZSCH Pumps highlights NEMO dispensers
Complex fluid handling solutions provider NETZSCH Pumps USA showcased its NEMO Dispensers. The dispensers are engineered for precise dosing and metering of highly abrasive and viscous fluids, designed to handle a wide range of viscosities, shear-sensitive materials and entrained solids, the company says. The NEMO Dispensers deliver accurate and repeatable dispensing performance across various industrial applications, it adds. The dispensers feature a positive displacement design, which ensures consistent, low-pulsation flow that conveys materials without damaging delicate, shear-sensitive components. The dispensers’ valve-free operation eliminates common wear points, improving longevity and reliability, while optional heating ensures optimal performance with temperature-sensitive products. The compact design of the NEMO Dispensers allows for seamless integration into automated production systems, which offers enhanced flexibility in dot or bead applications, potting and adhesive and sealant dispensing, the company notes.. They provide unmatched versatility thanks to their ability to handle low to extremely high viscosity fluids, anaerobic products and flux or smoldering pastes. The dispensers are available in multiple configurations, offering a range of flow rates and pressures. These dispensers set a high standard for metering and dispensing, NETZSCH adds, providing industries “with a reliable solution for demanding processes,” it says.
