Kenworth Truck Co. offers Bendix Fusion safety system

Technology from air brake charging and control system developer Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems now is available to order on select Kenworth Truck Co. vehicles. Bendix’s flagship collision mitigation system, Bendix Fusion, includes new features and enhanced capabilities, the company notes. These updated features build on long-standing and road-proven advanced driver assistance technologies, it says. “We’ve been working with the Kenworth team for decades to provide North America’s fleets and drivers with safer trucks, and it never stops being a point of pride to see Bendix technologies on their top vehicles,” said Nicole Oreskovic, Bendix vice president of sales and marketing, in a statement. “From the earliest days of our full-stability systems in 2005, to the latest continuing steps in highly automated driving, Kenworth has always been a fantastic and valuable partner on our journey toward safer roads for everyone.” Available in a range of Kenworth models since 2016, Bendix Fusion has been the standard on select Kenworth trucks, including its on-highway flagship T680 model, since 2018. Fusion was built on the foundation of the Bendix ESP Electronic Stability Program full-stability system and gathers input through radar, video and brakes. The system then combines and cross-checks the data from sensors that work together and creates a more detailed assessment from the collected information, delivering collision mitigation on moving and stationary vehicles while also prioritizing alerts to help reduce driver distraction. “Drivers are, and have always been, the inspiration for every Kenworth truck built — and we are happy to partner with Bendix to provide customers purchasing new T680s with a solution that, coupled with safe driving behavior, addresses the ease of operation, increased convenience and improved driver comfort,” said Kyle Kimball, Kenworth director of marketing, in a statement.

New Crown series promotes safety, operator confidence

Crown Equipment Corp. recently announced the availability of the Crown SP 1500 Series order picker. With innovative design features, such as the industry’s first mid-platform window and industry-leading lift and lower speeds, the truck enhances operator safety while making order picking easier and more efficient, the company says. This new series provides exceptional views even when fully elevated, which enhances visibility and boosts operator confidence and productivity, it adds. The mid-platform window is centered between operator controls and provides a view of the floor below when the platform is raised. The truck features a large upper window, offering a wide view of pedestrians, objects and other equipment, and openings in the center and on each side of the floorboard to provide a clear view directly below. There is an optional large panoramic window above the operator that provides clear sightlines to pick locations and overhead obstructions, resulting in all-around visibility for the operator. “Every element of the Crown SP 1500 Series is designed to work together with the operator to optimize the order picking process,” said Chris Grote, senior product manager at Crown, in a statement. “By enabling seamless interaction between operator and lift truck, the lift truck’s design helps boost safety, efficiency and productivity. We do this by providing unmatched visibility at height, industry-leading lift and lower speeds, and intuitive blending of truck functions within a customizable, operator-centric, compartment we call Op-Zone.” The Op-Zone can be customized to best fit individual operator preferences and application requirements. The newly designed ergonomic controls allow for seamless blending of truck functions, it notes.

EXAIR’s releases new FloodStream liquid nozzle

EXIAR now is offering the 1/8 NPT FloodStream Liquid Atomizing Spray Nozzle for spraying processes where space is at a premium. The FloodStream produces a deflected flat fan pattern, providing a consistent and proficient spray for precise coverage in close quarters. The nozzle is manufactured from 303 stainless steel, and common applications included washing/wetting, dust suppression, lubrication and part cooling. The FloodStream is versatile and efficient, with a maximum operating pressure up to 250 PSI.
