Toshiba America Business Solutions is aiming to solve the comprehensive and ruggedized labeling needs for warehouse, distribution center, horticulture and manufacturing professionals with the release of its new high-performance industrial printer. Toshiba’s BX820T printer is engineered for demanding, fast-moving settings. The printer provides industrial professionals with the day-to-day reliability and consistency required by the job, as well as a low total cost of ownership that finance departments appreciate, Toshiba explains. The company’s cloud-enabled printing innovation delivers up to eight-inch media for standard and specialty labeling while supporting vellum, matted and glossy paper, and synthetic and polyester film as well. Toshiba’s metal-reinforced printer produces clear and durable labels for oversize pallets, cartons and drums. It also produces product identification and regulatory compliance labeling. The A-BRID platform integrates multifunction printer technology with high-tech-laden hardware. This enables for print speeds as fast as six inches a second and advanced IT applications that deliver a premium labeling experience, it adds. “Toshiba’s new barcode printer provides warehouse, distribution center, horticulture and manufacturing professionals with a versatile product for producing larger labels and thicker tags on a diverse array of media,” said Bill Melo, Toshiba America Business Solutions vice president of marketing and strategic business development, in a statement. “By easily integrating within existing fleets as well as supporting the upcoming GS1 US initiative, our printer presents industrial professionals with an ideal solution today and in the future.”

Identiv unveils ID-Pixels 3.0 to support AI supply chain applications

RFID and BLE-enabled Internet of Things (IoT) solutions provider Identiv Inc. announced the launch of ID-Pixels 3.0. It is a family of next-generation Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) inlays and labels, built on Wiliot’s Gen3 IC. ID-Pixels 3.0 enables organizations to continuously sense, track and understand the state of goods across complex supply chains, the company says. This launch represents the latest milestone in Identiv’s partnership with Wiliot, it says. Since forming the partnership in 2022, the two companies have worked closely in manufacturing and supplying Wiliot’s IoT Pixels. As the latest result of this collaboration, it brings enhanced performance, scalability and sensing capabilities to market, Identiv shares. The ability to capture continuous, real-world data from physical assets has become foundational, especially as enterprises move toward more transparent, automated supply chains, the company adds. ID-Pixels 3.0 addresses this need by transforming products into connected, intelligent assets, allowing for users to unlock the real-time data required to power Physical artificial intelligence (AI) applications and drive faster, more informed supply chain decisions. “Identiv was an early manufacturer of Wiliot-based BLE labels at scale, and ID-Pixels 3.0 builds on that foundation with a battery-free, cost-efficient solution for mass deployment,” said Dr. Manfred Mueller, chief operating officer of Identiv, in a statement. “Combining BLE, sensing and a unique digital identity in a single label, it enables real-time visibility and condition monitoring across physical supply chains.”

AlignOps BusyBusy safety module helps contractors beat the heat

With rising temperatures and increased enforcement, contractors can utilize the new Safety Module for AlignOps BusyBusy, which allows contractors to create stronger, more consistent safety processes that are always OSHA inspection-ready. The new module helps users create heat-specific jobsite inspections, create daily heat safety JSAs, document water and shade station checks, encourage employees to report heat hazards immediately, deliver and track heat safety training, track heat-related incidents and near misses, assign and track corrective actions and centralize everything so they are always inspection-ready, AlignOps says. BusyBusy is ideal for crews that work outside in elevated temperatures. Under OSHA’s Updated National Emphasis Program, inspections can be triggered during local heat advisories or when temperatures reach 80 degrees Fahrenheit, the company explains. The safety module addresses heat-related concerns and more, allowing contractors to develop site-specific, heat-related programs tailored to their specific needs and activities for the job. BusyBusy provides simple, mobile-friendly time tracking and GPS-enabled crew management for construction companies, it notes.

Italian coffee machine producer La Cimbali debuted its new Supera platform during the National Restaurant Association (NRA) Show in Chicago in May. The Supera line is designed to meet the growing demands of modern foodservice operations. It introduces a new approach to high-volume, high-quality coffee performance, combining automation, precision and flexibility at scale. Developed and manufactured in Italy, the platform is engineered to deliver as many as 350 cups a day across a full menu of hot and iced beverages, from espresso-based drinks to milk- and plant-based options. It combines advanced automation with the professional results typically associated with skilled baristas, even in self-service mode. “In an industry where consistency is priority but labor is scarce, La Cimbali Supera is a gamechanger,” said Gabriel Manresa, CEO of Cimbali Group North America, in a statement. “By engineering a platform that balances Dynamic Thermodrive precision with a fully autonomous cleaning system, we aren’t just automating a machine; we’re augmenting the entire service experience. This allows retailers to focus on their guests while the technology ensures that every single cup, from dairy to plant-based coffees, espressos, hot cocoa, matcha, teas and more, are technically perfect, artisanal quality and operationally effortless.” It is available in two configurations: the Supera Senso, optimized for speed and operational efficiency, and the Supera Dolcevita, designed for customization and elevated, guest-facing environments.

The Recycling Society and the Can Manufacturers Institute (CMI) shared the news that more than 3 million aluminum beverage cans were recycled in the latest round of the Million Cans Recycling Contest for elementary school students. The contest spanned across 14 states for the 2025-26 school year and diverted enough aluminum from landfills to build the airframe of a Boeing 737. “CMI members teamed up with schools across the country for a third consecutive year to demonstrate the value of recycling used aluminum beverage cans,” said Roxanne Sharif, director of sustainability at CMI, in a statement. “This recycling program is proof that there are meaningful and effective ways to engage young learners in hands-on recycling practices while delivering valuable funding to support their schools. Since 97% of recycled cans become new cans, we’re excited to take the aluminum these recycling superheroes kept in the recycling system and make it part of new cans.”
